Last call at nightowls release debut album
"... Ask the Dust is an album that, like John Fante, puts us in front of a life breakthrough that we would gladly do without wanting to see. He asks us to deal with those folds of existence that we don't want to look into the eyes. The night fears of Ingmar Bergman's wolf hour are here palpable, drowned in sensual and carnal atmospheres that we often feel ashamed to stare into the eyes, but we are unable to look away from. Ask the Dust is a streetlight lit in the dark of our soul, made of overwhelm music, sought after, dark, erotic, dangerous. An album to be tasted on several occasions thanks to a plot that doesn't know cesure between songs. An important occasion during a difficult period to discover common sound and deal with artists who know how to pro-vocate ".

The new album "Maim that tune slowly...soothe the savage beast" is officially out now !!
Being One fifth a covers record with one third of new original material to round out the eight track effort, Vainoras puts the Doomjazz touch to songs from Mr Bungle, Tom Waits, Elvis, Agents of Oblivion and Portishead whilst continuing and further exploring the quiet contemplative dirge balladry in three new tracks.
Wait for nightfall, Dim the lights and Slip those headphones on... enjoy and share !!
From E:\music\dark jazz on the Russian facebook - VK.com: And in the night Air new material of the Australian saxophonist Terry Vainoras in the spirit of the slow noir-ballads and the Midnight walks of the person suffering withdrawal syndrome. Music in the traditional genre for the key with a pleasant bonus in the form of a barely audible keystroke, which conveys the cozy atmosphere of the bar times the end of the Great Depression.

Rhythmic Gibberish announces Live show in support of D'arcy Molan
The Wimmera speaks
After skronking with saxophone delight in The Impossible No Goods and being part of BJ Morriszonkle’s Toy Symphony wrecking crew, D’Arcy Molan is sufficiently pacified to perform an interpretation of his matrilineal connection to the Wimmera region in western Victoria. In ‘The Wimmera speaks’ D’Arcy will project landscape photographs, and use spoken word, pre-recorded soundscapes, and live instruments to present material themed around people and place, the ethics of non-indigenous belonging, and the multiple history of spaces explored in his recent work, ‘The Wimmera: a postcolonial mosaic memoir’. Experience the premiere of this new multimodal work with punctuated support from MC Rhythmic Gibberish and vocal haiku from The Northern Belles. At Bar 303, 303 High Street Northcote, Friday 14th July, doors at 8pm, $10.
D'arcy says of the Mysterious Rhythmic Gibberish:
MC Rhythmic Gibberish (RG) has a distinct method and voice in Hip Hop that is specific about Australian places and culture. His prodigious flow is a reaction against the poverty of lyrical content often present in rap. According to Mr. Gibberish most MC’s use many words and say very little, so RG intentionally uses words for their rhythmic potential in absurd combinations and rhymes that display a knack for stunning visual imagery, word play, and dissonance.
Throughout RG's work the tone of beats and cadence veer from dark to comic with his metal chops evident in the direct delivery, vocal pyrotechnics, and command of his stage show. Particularly influenced by the golden age of Hip Hop in the 80s and 90s RG loves a good horn blast.

Rest in Peace Order of Chaos ( 1995-2002, 2008-2016)
August 11, 2016
As the founder, leader and main contributor of music and lyrics to my band Order of Chaos I'd like to release an official statement.
I have decided to end Order of Chaos after 17 years (1995 - 2002 and 2008-2016) and it was one of the hardest decisions of my life to make.
I am aware some of you may have seen Mat Rizzo statement today (see above) and the last sentence is one I would like to address first. He alludes to feeling like a Beatle, like the disbanding is due to one members "Yoko Ono" partner.
Personally I did not disband this group on account of my wife, who is and always has been a fiercely loyal supporter of my music and those involved in all of my creative outlets. Funnily enough to nobody’s knowledge but mine she has been the one who on many occasions talked me out of disbanding earlier.
I've never been a great communicator outside of instruments and vocals, this has caused misunderstandings over the years and for those I have hurt because off this I am sorry.
In recent years I've been doing a lot of soul searching and personal growth whilst trying to overcome debilitating anxiety among other epic life events that has happened to my fledgling family over our seven years together. With growth we evolve and I can say I'm actually the happiest and most content I've ever been, much of this due to the support I have received from Ellen Vainoras.
For quite some time now my heart and soul has not been connected to the other members, yet I continued along because the music made had gotten me through some terrible and amazing times in life.
I was hoping to record another album that was written but in light of ongoing drifting of relations and intolerable behaviours I was unable to let things slide anymore. It is for these reasons and many more that I chose to finish up.
It is sad that we have stopped in this fashion but as a husband and father I will no longer allow myself or those I love to be spoken about or treated in a disrespectful way.
I have many wonderful memories that will stay with me and the music created will live on forever. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over our years of existence.
Here's to new beginnings! I'm looking forward to my future music endeavours with the full support of my friends, family, fans and my loving wife and son.
I am sure you will see the other members in new groups also and I wish them the best in there endeavours.
Thank you,
Terry V

Subterranean Video premiere
VIDEO PREMIERE: Subterranean Disposition premieres video for “All Roads lead to Perdition” on No Clean Singing | Pre-orders being accepted!
May 17, 2016
Subterranean Disposition’s new album, entitled “Contagiuum and the Landscapes of Failure” is less than a month away! Thus we - with the help of No Clean Singing who is hosting the premiere - are releasing a new video clip for the track “All Roads Lead to Perdition” a song and video which conjures up images of collapse and apocalypse.
Terry Vainoras comments: “ All roads lead to perdition” touches lyrically on many facets of our decline as a species that could attribute to an extinction event or apocalypse in our lifetimes. To me the tone of the music invokes a similar feeling when reading Cormac Macarthy’s “The Road”- a post apocalyptic journey down that road to hell, so I have tried to combine that feeling with the lyric concepts in an open to interpretation way, following the dynamics of the music very close visually on its long trip, from ignorance to disorder, death and beyond."
No Clean Singing also provides some thoughts on the song and video on their article: "From the rising sun over a desolate landscape that accompanies the song’s opening, bereft notes to the scenes of a bleak and crumbling urban wasteland that soon follow, the imagery in the video begins to unfold in a rapidly changing montage of sights that provides a creative match for the haunting music.
The song itself is cloaked in gloom, with a heavy, rumbling undercarriage anchoring increasingly intense riffs and vocals (which vary from caustic shrieks to tyrannical roars to distorted yells and croaks). The band ratchets the tension as the song moves forward, like a spring coiling past the breaking point, the dissonance of the melody increasing… until it breaks, with a ghostly instrumental section that combines guitar, violin, and the rhythmic patter of drums (both mesmerizing and distressing).
The music’s desolate, anguished intensity returns soon enough, but the back half of the song also includes a sublime guitar solo that oozes pain like sap from a felled tree. The discordant sounds that flicker across the drifting ambience of the song’s finale seem a fitting way to conclude this hopeless but hypnotic journey."
Besides this, we’re now also accepting pre-orders for anyone interested in the CD version of the album, which includes full lyrics and artwork by Coby O’Brien. $10 + shipping for the new album, or $15 + shipping to include Subterranean Disposition’s 2012 debut self-titled album.
Again, the tracklisting for “Contagiuum and the Landscapes of Failure” is as follows:
1 - Hungry Ghosts on Rotten Soil
2 - Wooden Kimono Fixative
3 - Embittered
4 - All Roads Lead to Perdition
5 - A lifelong Slumber
6 - Aggressors Clothed as Victims

Melbourne based Experimental Death-Doom band Subterranean Disposition reveals the track “Wooden Kimono Fixative” from their upcoming sophomore album “Contagiuum and the Landscapes of Failure” which will be released on Hypnotic Dirge Records / Solitude Productions on June 13, 2016!
Taking the name from a Tom Waits coined phrase – ( Wooden Kimono being slang for a casket ) the track is a meditation on the human obsession with death and folklore of the end time.

Subterranean Disposition album completed !
January 7, 2016:
And the Subterranean Disposition second album entitled " Contagiuum and the Landscapes of failure " is now complete !!!
Stay tuned for Release date and details early this year, in the meantime here is what
Toyland studios producer and engineer Adam Calaitzis had to say about the SD2 recording process:
In a more sombre light, Melbourne metal veteran Terry Vainoras came in for guitar tracking for his melodic doom/death project Subterranean Disposition, to complete the album ‘Soundtracks for our Landscapes of Failure’ at Toyland. Textures were pulled from classic BOSS analogue pedals including the BF-2 Flanger, 1983 DM-2 Delay pedal, and TW-1 T “Touch” Wah. A Marshall stack was utilised for more contemplative half-clean guitar parts, and a Mesa Boogie stack for the despair-laden heavy doom riffs. An impressive self-taught multi-instrumentalist, Vainoras even played saxophone on the album. Drums were also tracked at Toyland, with drum duties handled by Dan Nahum. Terry came in for dedicated day-per-song mixing sessions, and the mixes shaped up as epic doom metal in the vein of classic My Dying Bride or dISEMBOWELMENT, but with a unique identity; the spacious arrangements have been sculpted into cavernous musical introspections through very appropriate application of effects including Lexicon 224x Digital Reverberator, Lexicon 300 Digital Effects System, and AMS DMX 15-80S Digital Delay. Sure to be a monolithic release for 2016.

Subterranean studio update, july 5, 2015
Recently i was very fortunate to catch up with long time friend and former bandmate Mark Kelson and spend an afternoon recording with him at his Kelsonic Studios. He was generous enough to let me use his telecaster and strat and we had a nice time getting some great " Apocalyptic Americana " clean, semi clean and drone sounds to complement the existing heavier guitars.
Couldn't be happier with the sounds, cheers Mark !!
Now its back to Toyland Recording Studio to finish tracking the vocals and keyboards with some guest musicians to perform some piano, flugel horn, trumpet and the mysterious Kemancheh.
The home stretch to completing album number two !

Subterranean studio update
February 26th, 2015
Happy to report that 95% of the guitar tracking for the new album
" Soundtracks for our Landscapes of failure " was completed yesterday at Toyland studio. Some old school analog pedals were used for textural sounds, The Marshall stack for half distorted / Half clean and The Mesa Boogie stack for the face melting doom riff dissonance. Great sounds and performances captured !!

Subterranean Disposition begins recording sophomore album
December 16th, 2014
Subterranean Disposition has entered Toyland Studios to begin the recording process for the sophomore album Soundtracks for Our Landscapes of Failure. For this album drummer Dan Nahum (The Veil, Dead River Runs Dry) has handled all percussive duties. More recording will follow in 2015 with a Fall release on the cards.
Says Terry:
‘I am honoured to have Dan play on this new Subterranean Disposition material, He has laid down a huge sounding drum foundation for me to build upon, a very tasteful “for the song” approach with some added percussive filigree that will bring the ambient passages on these epic songs to another level. And another chance to work with Adam Calaitzis at Toyland is always a great experience, the drums are massive even at this stage!
Says Dan:
‘Working with Terry and Subterranean Disposition has been a privilege. This is one of the most dynamic and carefully thought-out representations of extreme doom metal that I have come across, and to contribute my playing to it means a great deal. Props also to Adam Calaitzis at Toyland, who pulled great, organic yet clear sounds and put me through my paces in terms of feel and arrangements. I can’t wait to hear the finished recording.

Subterranean Disposition Tour
JANUARY 21, 2013
Hypnotic Dirge Records, Metalobsession.net and MMK promotions proudly presents a dual album launch for two of Australia's best Doom exports, Lycanthia and Subterranean Disposition, on their Australian east coast tour this February, March and April.
Longstanding Australian Death-Doom/Gothic Metal band Lycanthia are due to release their latest Album 'Oligarchy' in a digi-pak format, through Hypnotic Dirge Records. Their music is described as dark, aggressive and emotional sound scapes fused with classical elements. This sound is created with the use of Grim Male Vocals, mixed with Dual Female harmonies, Violins, Twin-Guitars, Bass, Drums and Keyboards/Piano. 'Oligarchy' has been described as "Pure gloom metal with emphasis on atmosphere, melody and captivating vocals" by doommantia website.
Mastered by Jens Bogren of Fascination Street Studios, Oligarchy is the perfect successor to their momentous EP 'Within The Walls', and see's Lycanthia develop their musical style with greater maturity and creativity. Bassist and Vocalist, Lee Tassaker, said "we are over the moon about being signed to Hypnotic Dirge Records and cannot wait to share the stage with fellow label-mates Subterranean Disposition. It's going to be great to share the music of our new album 'Oligarchy' with everyone, at our up and coming shows in VIC, NSW and QLD, over the next few months.
Starting life as the solo recording project of Melbourne metal veteran Terry Vainoras (Order of Chaos, Damaged, Insomnius Dei, Earth, Hellspawn, The Eternal) with a sound entrenched in a mixture of equal parts Doom, Death and Sludge with hints of the Experimental, Subterranean Disposition released it’s debut album through Hypnotic Dirge Records on the 27th of October in 2012, receiving critical praise through the worldwide metal media.
Terry has recruited a stellar line up of his favourite musicians to recreate the album as a live band: Christophe Delcourt on Drums (Away the Cinders), Shaun Bryndzia on Guitar (Canyonaero) and Retch Bile on Bass (Broozer). The touring group will also feature Phoebe Pinnock (Heaven the Axe) performing her vocal contributions in Melbourne and Megan Tassaker (Lycanthia) performing the female parts in Sydney, Brisbane and Gold coast, with a guest saxophonist at each show.
Terry has said “ The guys in the band have worked incredibly hard at interpreting the recorded work, teaching me a lot about these songs in the process. We are really excited to get out and perform this material live for the first time, and to do so with such a great touring partner in Lycanthia. See you all at the shows”

Originally inspired by and conceived as a follow up to the music Mark Kelson had written for his and Terry’s Collaboration on the Insomnius Dei album ‘Illusions of Silence’, the debut self-titled Subterranean Disposition album explores further the use of dissonance and ambience, lending more dynamics to the long passages of darkness and light, crafted from the influence of early 90’s doom metal and modern sludge with forward thinking embellishments in song writing. Also permeating the record are the use of female vocals courtesy of Pheobe Pinnock, and guest saxaphone from D'arcy Molan, both musicians from the Australian scene. Considering all the elements present in the album, you can expect nothing less than an all-encompassing, broading, dark, and experimental ride through devastating darkness on the debut Subterranean Disposition album.
