Canyonaero
Canyonaero was conceived during the summer months of 2003 when two veterans of the melbourne metal scene Terry Vainoras:Vocals (Damaged,Earth,Hellspawn,Order of chaos,Insomnius dei) and Evan Coops: guitars (Order of chaos) were hanging out vibing to their favourite Clutch, Alice in chains and Spiritual beggars records. They envisaged putting together a rock group with a stripped back "less is more" approach to songwriting with more dynamics and vocal melody than their previous bands had afforded.
Enter long time friend to both Tom Nolan (Vacancy, Sonic persuasion) and Terrys brother Shaun Bryndzia on drums and bass respectively, the new found quartet hit the jam room running. They set about honing their collective chops in sweat filled extended jams, finding magic in sculpting many of the early songs from warm up improvisings.
2004 saw the group play the many obligatory opening slots, building a stage chemistry leading up to the recording and release of a self titled ep later that year. The disc received favourable treatment from local radio and music media allowing the boys more stage time with bands running the gamut of genres from rock through metal.
Fast forward to winter 2005 the self proclaimed rednecks entered Toyland studios for the second time to begin recording a debut ten track album entitled "Scream'n blue murder". A year intermittently working with Adam Calaitzis yeilded the desired result, a diverse collection of tunes moving through Stoner, Country,Hard Rock and Metal moods effortlessly, laced with much gang chanting from the whole band with quality sound bites from Adam, bringing to life the dark, strange yet amusing tales being sung.
Incorporating a "dvd movie" style artwork and packaging reminiscent in equal parts of Naked gun, Dragnet and Blue murder, albeit in the aussie outback!, the album was released independently in Australia and in Europe through Undertow Recordings.
